Organizational Behavior

I think everyone should take an organizational behavior class.  In fact, I think it should be required annual training for managers or people who do certain job tasks.  I have seen a mountain of issues caused by someone not being able to communicate effectively.  I have seen even more issues caused by managers destroying the motivation people have to do a good job.  I think everyone forgets from time to time that people are a company’s greatest asset.  Everyone is replaceable job function wise, but replacing people is expensive.  Not replacing them is even more so.  Why replace someone when it is so much easier to treat people like human beings instead of commodities like potatoes.

Prime Offender

I am almost an anti-technology preacher.  I think technology is going to ruin us.  We will become so dependent on it, that when it fails, it will be catastrophic.  The human species will not know what to do without it.  It almost makes me sick that I bought a Microsoft Band.  All I wanted was something that tracked my sleep.  My sleep cycles suck.  I am rested enough to be functional, but I know it can be better.  Collecting data is the first step in fixing it, but this thing is too damned “cool.”  It connects to my Windows Phone and shows who’s calling, the texts that just came across, the emails in my inbox, alarms from my phone, the UV intensity, weather, etc.  If it wasn’t so useful, I would throw it away as another technology sucking us in.  I guess my only comfort is that I am aware of this.  Most people are a slave to technology but are clueless about that fact.

It Has Been a While

It’s been a while since I have posted anything.  There is no rest for the weary or the wicked.  While it might be up to debate whether I am wicked or not, I am definitely weary.  Working full time and going college full time are one thing, but add finishing the basement with all of the other life chores, and #BOOM!  My life is a little crazy.  Good news is the basement is coming along.  I laid to rooms of floor over the weekend.  All those rooms need are trim and some doors.

I did also get some more edits completed on The Amanai Deception and a couple of chapters written in The Amanai Resolution.  I know I really want the next book available, but with so much going on in life, it might be longer than I want.  Oh well.  One day at a time!
